Conclusion

In conclusion, this study describes radiographic measurements of the front hooves of a defined population of Warmblood horses that had no recent history or obvious clinical signs of lameness. On both views (LM and DP), about 70% of the horses have larger and flatter hooves on the left side. In addition, these measurements accurately quantify the effect of trimming on the hoof conformation of horses aged between 6 and 12 years and with a withers height of 162 to 172 cm.
